The Street Fighter 6 community was finally able to exhale after Capcom revealed the much anticipated tertiary DLC costumes earlier this month, but that’s not all that’s en route to the game’s DLC store.
In a surprise post on X Thursday, Capcom revealed that additional matchmaking artwork cards will also be available for those who appreciated a little extra custom flair.
When a ranked or casual match queues up in SF6, both parties involved are notified by a “Here Come a New Challenger!” card depicting the character their opponent is about to use. You can already customize these with a variety of portraits and styles for each character, but the incoming style looks very different than what’s currently available.
If we’re honest, and we’re sure we’re not the only 80’s/90’s babies who feel this way, the art style looks a lot like that of The Powerpuff Girls, and that’s not at all a bad thing.
The quick video embed accompanying the announcement shows all 20 available roster members in said art style, many of which look absolutely spectacular. Some even breath new life into these characters (we’re looking at you, Lily) and may be worth purchasing even if you don’t usually play them.
It won’t be a free endeavor, however, as these will be available for purchase via either Fighter Coin or Drive Tickets. As to how much each will cost, we don’t yet know, but all will be revealed when they drop on Friday, December 1 along with the rest of the highly anticipated DLC.
