EPL: Man City end winless run, Arsenal beat Man Utd as Chelsea thump Saints

Manchester City have returned to winning ways as they thrashed Nottingham Forest 3-0 in the Premier League on Wednesday night.

Super Eagles defender Ola Aina was in action for 63 minutes but could not help his side stand the strenght of the champions.

City had not won a game since a 1-0 victory over Southampton on 26th October, but successfully ended a seven-game winless streak.

First-half goals from Bernardo Silva and star man Kevin de Bruyne and a second half effort by Jeremy Doku were enough to bring back life at the Etihad Stadium.

Arsenal secured a 2-0 win over Manchester United in a Premier League encounter at the Emirates Stadium.

United manager Ruben Amorim suffered his first defeat in English football as Arsenal defenders Jurrien Timber and William Saliba did the damage.

Elsewhere, Chelsea sealed a 5-1 victory over 10-man Southampton, with Super Eagles Joe Aribo netting the hosts’ only goal of the game in the 11th minute.

At the Goodison Park, Newcastle United and Liverpool played out a thrilling 3-3 draw, with Mohammed Salah netting a brace.

As it stands, the Gunners sit third in the Premier League with 28 points, level on that mark with Chelsea and seven behind Arne Slot’s Liverpool after they dropped points.

In the other Premier League games played on Wednesday night, Aston Villa thrashed visiting Brentford 3-1 while Everton walloped Wolverhampton Wanderers 4-0.
