Capcom Cup X is scheduled to take place in February 2024, spanning over the course of 10 days. Three players will qualify via the offline premier events, 18 will qualify via the online premier events, 26 will qualify during the World Warrior Circuit, while the last player will qualify via the three-day Last Chance Qualifier.
At this point, 36 out of 48 players have now qualified for Capcom Cup X. This gives us an opportunity to really gauge how the meta is shaping up by looking at which characters are being used to qualify for this major event. Keep in mind that we’ll only be counting the characters a player uses during the event in which they’re able to qualify during.
As it turns out, Luke is currently the most successful character in Street Fighter 6. In total, six players used Luke as their main while two others used Luke as a secondary. With Bandits|MenaRD qualifying during the US East World Warrior Circuit, this counts as him being a Blanka main with Luke and JP used as secondaries.
Ken and Dee Jay have also proven to be very meta relevant in Street Fighter 6 thus far. Both characters have been represented by six players apiece, but Ken was also used as a secondary by one additional player.
Out of the 20 characters that are currently playable in Street Fighter 6, 13 have been used to qualify for Capcom Cup X. This indicates that Kimberly, E. Honda, Lily, A.K.I., Jamie, Manon, and Ryu are among the weaker characters in the meta right now.
