With Capcom Cup X having wrapped up and Akuma on the horizon, fans are expecting Street Fighter 6’s big season 2 balance patch to drop fairly soon. Having said that, some content creators and players are taking the time to share their season 2 changes wish list, while others are crafting final tier lists for the current version of the game as a send off.
801 Strider falls under the latter category today, and in one of his latest videos puts together a final Street Fighter 6 “Season 1.5” tier list.
Strider’s latest Street Fighter 6 tier list is organized into six different categories. You have your standard S rank through C rank (with an added A+ rank), and then even above S rank you have the “Luke” rank which… is pretty telling of what Strider thinks of the new Street Fighter poster child.
Initially, Strider placed Luke in S tier along with Dee Jay, but after some quick thought realized that Luke needs to be in his own tier above the rest. He explains that he feels Luke is the best in the game (which isn’t a controversial opinion at this point in time), and that he doesn’t quite have anyone else on the roster who can match his strength.
One of the more interesting picks on Strider’s list comes in the form of JP. The game’s big boss was an absolute power house throughout the majority of the launch version of the game, but after some nerfs in a small balance update that came along with DLC character Ed, some players feel JP may have fallen from grace pretty hard.
Strider places JP in A rank, which puts him at about 11th overall in the game. While Strider points out that JP still has a lot of the things that made him strong before, the nerfs to crouching heavy punch and the new Drive Gauge gain opponents get from parrying portal spikes has hurt the character on some real fundamental levels.
Check out Strider’s final Street Fighter 6 tier list before season 2 drops below. You can also watch his new video to see why he placed everyone where he did, but just be warned there’s a little bit of harsh language used throughout.
