Talking at the silver jubilee event of telecom sector regular TRAI, Prime Minister Modi has said that it is estimated that the 5G network rollout will add $450 billion (roughly Rs. 3,492 crore) to the Indian economy.
6G network launch in India
The Indian government is targeting to roll out the 6G mobile network in the country by the end of the decade. This comes amidst reports about the 5G network’s auction next month and rollout in the next year. 5G will be a crucial development in the Indian technology space as it will bring a range of use cases. “This is not just increasing Internet speed but also the pace of development and creating jobs,” said Modi. He further added that 5G technology will bring positive change in the governance of the country and ease of doing business and living.
The latest telecom network will boost growth in agriculture, education, health, infrastructure and logistics. This will also act as deciding factor for the progress of the country in the 21st century. This is why a modern-day infrastructure needs to be rolled out. Internet users are fast expanding in India, said Prime Minister Modi. Mobile manufacturing units in India have expanded from two to over 200 and is now the world’s biggest mobile manufacturing hub.
