As the Carnival Calabar and Festival gathers momentum, in the ever-buzzing city of Calabar the capital of Cross River State, with a Carnival and Festival theme tagged; “Season of Sweetness”, the state government has rolled out a well-curated calendar of events to make this year’s Carnival and Festival a memorable package and worthwhile experience.
Speaking in the state capital, the Special Adviser Events Management, Governor’s Office, Mr. Effiong Ekpenyong has highlighted the Governor’s plans to make this year’s festival the best of the 18 years of Calabar festival package, Pointing out that Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu is assuring every visitor to the state a sweetened atmosphere, that may compel them to have a change of travel plans to be part of the festivities.
Mr. Effiong Ekpenyong JP. hinted that top amongst the many events to look out for on the calendar will be the “Queen of Humanity” Cross River Pageant, billed for December 27th, 2023 at the Calabar International Conference Centre.
Also speaking the Special Adviser Programs, Projects and Events office of the wife of Governor, Dr. Inyang Asibong alluded that the Queen of Humanity Cross River Pageant will debut as the highest star prize pageant in Nigeria, the winner will win a cash prize of 5 million naira, an SUV Car, represent Nigeria at the Queen of Humanity Global pageant, alongside other exciting packages and ambassadorial privileges.
She further stated that the winner will be the country’s humanitarian ambassador and an icon for humanity, Dr. Asibong said the pageant is open to all young Nigerian girls between the ages of 18 and 24 years, whilst urging interested contestants to log on to www.queenofhumanitycrs.org to register, after paying the sum of 10,000, 00.
Answering questions on auditions for the pageant, Dr. Inyang Asibong listed Lagos, Abuja, Enugu and Calabar as the cities where the auditions will take place.
Dr. Asibong assured that on the resolve of the Queen of Humanity Cross River pageant serving as a platform that will showcase beauty, brains and poise like never before; Adding that the pageant is a project of the Office Of The First Lady of Cross River State, Rev. Mrs. Eyoawan Bassey Otu, whose passion for humanitarian services has in more than three decades driven her to setting up projects that promotes care, love and respect for humanity.
In his closing remark, the Special Adviser Events Management Governors office, Effiong Ekpenyong said the Queen of Humanity Cross River pageant will be televised live on DSTV to about 52 countries, making the pageant a beautiful bride to brands and advertisers.
