Manchester United took on Greek side PAOK FC in a crucial Europa League clash, finally breaking their European winless streak with a 2-0 victory.
This result pushed United up to 15th in the group stage standings and marked their first European win in over a year, after three consecutive draws this season.
Both goals came from man-of-the-match Amad Diallo, whose second-half heroics turned a frustrating game into a comfortable win.
Despite the final scoreline, United looked flat and short of ideas for much of the match.
The first half was particularly underwhelming, with PAOK enjoying the majority of possession and threatening in key moments.
However, a looping header from Amad early in the second half broke the deadlock, giving United the confidence to take control.
Twenty minutes later, Amad doubled the lead, winning the ball high up the pitch, driving forward, and unleashing a powerful shot to seal the victory.
Interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy remains unbeaten in his three games in charge, with Ruben Amorim set to take over on Monday.
Here are five things we learned from Manchester United’s much-needed 2-0 win over PAOK.
