Manchester United faced Everton in Ruben Amorim’s first Premier League game in charge, delivering a commanding 4-0 victory at Old Trafford.
After an even opening, United gradually took control and showcased Amorim’s tactical influence.
Notably, during Erik ten Hag’s tenure, United never managed to win by a four-goal margin in the Premier League, something Amorim has achieved in just his third game in charge.
United’s first goal came from a well-executed set piece.
The players crowded Everton’s defense near the goal line, creating space for Marcus Rashford to lurk on the edge of the box.
Bruno Fernandes found him with a pinpoint pass, and Rashford’s effort, deflected off Jarrad Branthwaite, nestled into the net.
From that moment, United were in full control.
The second goal came just before halftime when Amad Diallo’s relentless pressing won the ball high up the pitch.
He quickly fed Fernandes, who squared it to Joshua Zirkzee to finish.
The second half started with Manchester United maintaining their intensity.
Amad slipped a perfectly weighted pass to Rashford, who finished clinically through Jordan Pickford’s legs.
Amad then capped off a brilliant performance by pressing aggressively to win possession again.
Drawing in the defender, he laid off a perfectly weighted ball to Zirkzee, who placed it calmly into the corner for United’s fourth.
With a dominant result and Amorim’s ideas beginning to take shape, here are five things we learned from Manchester United’s win.
