Marcus Rashford looks set to leave Manchester United.
After being left out of the squad for the Manchester derby, Rashford has expressed his desire for a new challenge.
While many at the club hoped for Rashford’s success, the timing seems right for fresh beginnings as United embark on a rebuild under Ruben Amorim.
If Rashford departs, United will need a replacement who fits Amorim’s system.
Amorim has emphasised the importance of signing the right profiles, and United’s recruitment strategy will be critical.
With Jason Wilcox stepping in after Dan Ashworth’s departure, INEOS aim to refine their squad-building approach, leveraging Wilcox’s coaching background.
After a mixed summer transfer window, INEOS will be desperate to get their next move right.
The ideal candidate for Amorim’s “left 10” position must be highly mobile, effective in the press, and physically strong to win second balls.
On the ball, they need to excel in tight spaces, evade pressure, and show intelligent movement in the final third.
Crucially, they must also help ease United’s goalscoring struggles and be able to find the back of the net.
Whilst Rashford can also play number 9, United may also target a striker to replace Rashford.
With this profile in mind, here are five players Manchester United could target to replace Marcus Rashford if he moves on.
