4-year-old girl stabbed multiple times during family argument

PATERSON, N.J. (TCN) — A 4-year-old girl was hospitalized with multiple injuries after she was stabbed over the weekend during a suspected family dispute.

The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement that on Aug. 23 at 4:05 p.m., Paterson Police Department officers responded to a home on East 24th Street regarding a stabbing. When officers arrived, they found the girl with stab wounds and transported her to a nearby hospital for treatment. The prosecutor’s office said the girl is in stable condition.

The girl’s father, Faherem LaSane, told WABC-TV his daughter, Amber, sustained a punctured liver and punctured lung. Her diaphragm was also reportedly injured.

Paterson City Council member Luis Velez alleged Amber’s aunt “committed this crime, and she’s on the loose.”

A neighbor told WABC Amber had “a big gash on her forehead” and was carried out by her mother following the incident.

The prosecutor’s office said the investigation remains ongoing.
