37yrs Leo Enwa in police custody for burning 3yrs old Destiny at the stake, 2 missing kids in police custody

A 37 years old man simply identified as Mr Leo Columbus Enwa, has finally been arrested by officers of the Nigerian Police, Cross River State Command for tying little Destiny, who is 3 years old, at the stake and burnt her two legs NegroidHaven can report authoritatively. 


This information is contained in a press release dated 4th of July 2018 and signed by the Commissioner for Police, Mr Hafiz Mohammed Inuwa who said that early this month Juvenile Welfare Centre (JWC), Akamkpa Division received information of the development, which caused his men to proceed with the arrest of the suspect, Enwa. 
According to the police commissioner, 'on 2nd July 2018 at about 1640hrs, information received by Juvenile Welfare Centre (JWC) of Akamkpa Division that one Leo Columbus Enwa, male, 37yrs of Enghaut Headquarters Camp Uyanga tied up his brother's child —Destiny, female, 3yrs on a Guava tree and burnt her two legs with fire that cause (sic) her harm. The suspect was arrested immediately. The victim was rushed to General Hospital Akamkpa for treatment and was later taken to orphanage home for proper attention'. The statement added that Enwa will be charged to court soon. 
Enwa who said that he's been taking care of the child for two years being her uncle, told journalists at the scene of the police command that he acted out of anger, and regretted his action. Enwa who denied tying her to the stake added that he did not cause her to sleep in a make-shift bed as variously said, but a temporary place he keeps her while other children have gone to school, and he to work since he can't lock her inside until he returns. He also said he mistakenly burnt her with flames from a fire used to burn dirt from cleaning the environment that day. 
'I did not intentionally burn her leg, I did not plan to kill her, I did not tie her…  I regret it', he added. 
Missing Children Found 
Meanwhile, the police commissioner also informed that two children, namely, Victory Patrick Kuma, male, 7 years old, and Success Patrick Kuma, female, 4 years old, who have been reported missing, have been found. 
He said that on 18th June this year at about 9PM, the duo of one Mr Otu Usani and madam Deborah Daniel reported at State Housing Divisional Police Headquarters, Calabar that an unknown car at 8:36PM drove close to them, dropped off the two children and zoomed off. 
'Parents and relatives of these two loving/innocent children are advised to contact the DPO State Housing Division Calabar to enable them re-unite them with their family', the police commissioner concluded.
