CALABAR – The Management of the University of Calabar have received commendations for successfully hosting it’s 36th Convocation Ceremony, graduating students with various level of degrees in their numbers.
The commendations which came on the heels of the convocation lectures delivered by the Guest Lecturer, the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah, who delivered the 36th Convocation lecture with the theme “Harmonizing Diversity for National Development”.
Cross River Lawmaker, who represents Boki I state constituency and Chief Whip of the 10th Assembly, Rt. Hon. Hillary Bisong expressed satisfaction at with the university management, stating that the success of the event was a result of dedication and commitment to the educational needs of Cross Riverians.
The event which took place at the University of Calabar International Conference Centre Thursday March 21, 2024, had in attendance, intellectuals and experts from the Academia, Religious and Government officials.
Prominent among guests were; Prof. Ivara Esu, former VC of the University of Calabar and immediate Past Deputy Governor of Cross River State; Honorable Commissioner for Education, Senator Dr Stephen Adi Odey; Rev. Fr. Bob Etta, who extolled the great achievements of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Florence Obi.
The Host, Prof. Florence Banku Obi, the Vice Chancellor of the Institution, thanked guests, management and Staff for making the event a huge success.
