A school shooting left at least three individuals dead and six others injured at a Christian school in Madison, Wisconsin, on Monday. Police have indicated that the suspected shooter was among those killed in the shooting incident.
According to Fox 9, police officials responded to a shooting at roughly 10:57 a.m. on Monday at the Abundant Life Christian School in Madison, Wisconsin. The shooting left at least three killed and six injured, according to police officials. During a press briefing at 12:15 p.m., police officials initially reported that five individuals had been killed, including a juvenile who is believed to have been responsible for Monday’s shooting, and that five individuals had been wounded.
Fox News reported that Madison Police Chief Shon F. Barnes said at least seven individuals were transported to local hospitals for medical treatment and that the victims’ injuries currently range from “minor to life-threatening.”

“Today is a sad, sad day,” Barnes said. He later added, “This is something you prepare for, but that you hope you never have to do.”
According to The New York Post, Barnes also addressed the trauma experienced by the people at Abundant Life Christian School, saying, “Every child, every person in that building is a victim and will be a victim forever.”
According to Fox 9, police officials have indicated that the suspected shooter was a student at the private school and that police officers found the suspected shooter dead in the school building. Police officials have confirmed that officers did not fire at the shooter. The outlet noted that Monday’s incident currently remains under investigation.
In a statement released on X, formerly Twitter, Gov. Tony Evers (D-Wisconsin) said, “I am closely monitoring the incident at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison. We are praying for the kids, educators, and entire Abundant Life school community as we await more information and are grateful for the first responders who are working quickly to respond.”
In a post on Facebook following Monday’s shooting, Abundant Life Christian School wrote, “Prayers Requested! Today, we had an active shooter incident at ALCS. We are in the midst of following up. We will share information as we are able. Please pray for our Challenger Family.”
