2XKO, formerly known as Project L, is the upcoming League of Legends team-based fighting game from Riot Games. We recently learned the official name of the title, and now the development team is back to share more information about the game itself.
This time around, familiar face Daniel “Clockw0rk” Maniago sits down to detail the team modifier system in 2XKO. These enhancements are known as “Fuses.”
As Maniago explains it, the Fuse System is a way for players to amplify their own expression. Basically, this system allows you to pick an enhancement at the character select screen that provides benefits throughout the match depending on the fuse you selected.
“The first fuse is Double Down,” explains Maniago. “It’s a fuse where the point character does their super, [and] the second can do their super or ult.”
This particular fuse sounds a lot like the Delayed Hyper Combos we’ve seen in the Marvel vs. Capcom series before, and Clockw0rk notes that the damage output is crazy with this fuse when the proper resources are used.
The next fuse is the “Freestyle” fuse. “Freestyle is a fuse in which you can handshake tag twice in one sequence. It’s a pretty advanced fuse, [and] when a duo is really in sync, then you can really see the functionality shine,” Clockw0rk says.
2x Assist is a fuse that grants you two assist actions within one assist call. And lastly, we have the “Fury” fuse that increases the player’s damage when their health gets low, which is intended to be used for comeback potential.
