June 11, 2024 MANHATTAN, New York – A 22-year-old woman was stabbed to death when a dispute turned violent, claiming the life of the young person in Midtown Tuesday evening, cops said.
According to police, the victim was allegedly involved in an argument with another woman when she was stabbed. The deadly encounter unfolded just across the street across from Manhattan’s Port Authority Bus Terminal.
The 22-year-old woman was rushed by EMS to Bellevue Hospital with a serious stab wound to the chest, where she later died, police said.
There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing as police are search for a suspected female attacker wanted in connection with the deadly stabbing.
Detectives are also working to determine what initiated the altercation on West 40th Street & 8th Avenue around 10:15 p.m., in midtown Tuesday night.
A short distance away and just two hours earlier, police responded to multiple 911 calls for a person shot near Greenly Square in Midtown, Manhattan.
Upon arrival officers located a 33-year-old man with a gunshot to the left leg following a brawl that broke out just before 8 p.m., near W. 33rd St. and Broadway, police said.
The injured man was taken to Bellevue Hospital by first responders and last listed in stable condition.
According to officials, three men got into an argument before a shot rang out and at least one person involved in the fight was taken into police custody with charges pending.
Police are still looking for the alleged gunman who fled the scene southbound on Broadway on foot.
