2025: I am in Anambra guber race to win – Paul Chukwuma insists

The Governorship candidate of Young Progressive Party (YPP), Sir Paul Chukwuma, has insisted that he is contesting the November 8, 2025 Anambra governorship election to win and be swear-in come March 17th, 2026.

Chukwuma stated this while briefing journalists at his Umueri residence in Anambra East Local Government Area of the State, on Monday to update the public on his readiness for the contest.

He said from the little he has observed in the curse of campaigning, shows that he will be massively elected and officially swear-in come March 17th, 2026 to take over leadership from the incumbent governor, Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo of the State ruling All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA.

According to him, my aspiration to governed Anambra is to liberate the State in all sectors of human existence, particularly, the Monday sit-at-home order that has become a major threat to social-economic wellbeing of the State and the South East region at large.

“I am not contesting the election to run a comedy show. I am not in the race to say uncomplimentary things against any of my co-contesters. I am not in the race for gossip talk. I am not interested in non-issues based campaign. I am more interested to explain to Ndi-Anambra, the reason why I offer myself to serve them. I am more interested in letting Ndi-Anambra know exactly what I want to do and how I want to do it. I am more interested in bringing positive change to my state. I am more interested in pointing out the areas the Anambra economic and social eco-system are being broken and how my administration, if elected would fixed it.

“My administration would recognize and strengthen the autonomy granted to the 21 Local Government Areas, State Judiciary and Legislative.

“My government would allowed the local government administration to function without interference to internalized development at the grassroots.

“I will be a responsive and responsible governor. I will at every point in time ensure that the power belongs to ndi Anambra. I am not going to associate myself with anything that will not follow the due process of law. I will not support anything that is undemocratic or against humanity.

“I will deploy the security votes available to me as governor in ensuring that every nooks and crannies of Anambra would be secured, adding that no Council Area, community or people would be challenged by insecurity under my administration.

“The State Judiciary and State House of Assembly would equally be granted freedom to carry on their constitutional mandates thereby strengthening democracy and rule of law, while acting as checks and balances.

Chukwuma used the briefing to appeal to all eligible voters including the media to come out en masse to vote for YPP to enable him actualized his set vision of liberating the state.
