13-Year-Old Girl Sexually Assaulted at Gunpoint in Queens Park: NYPD

June 13, 2024 QUEENS, New York – A teen girl was sexually assaulted inside Queens park Thursday afternoon, cops said.

According to police, a 13-year-old girl was walking with her 15-year-old male friend inside Kissena Park in the Flushing neighborhood, when the two were approached by an unknown adult male armed with a knife.

Officials say the armed individual then forced the two teens off the walking path into a thick wooded area where the suspect then tied the teens up with a string or type of rope and sexually assaulted the teen girl at gunpoint.

Before fleeing the teens were also robbed of their belongings including cell phones, cops said.

The 13 and 15-year-olds were able to free themselves and receive help from a person they encountered outside of the park who called 911 for them.

Police from the 109 and surrounding Precincts flooded the area in response to the reported assault with a knife and gun.

Detectives searched Kissena Park for hours looking for any evidence that may have been left behind by the sick individual who carried out such a heinous act.

There are no arrests as of Friday morning but police are looking for a person of interest described as a curly haired man in his 20s with braces and a tattoo on his chest.

The individual was last seen wearing dark colored clothing with a red sneakers and a green backpack, authorities said.
