Ready for some chaos? While out a major event recently Diaphone had the idea to put together a general “greatest fighting games” tier list simply by asking many of the players attending the event.
At the end of the day 25 games made it onto the list that spans five total tiers: GOAT, Amazing, Good, Mid, and trash. This one was much more about the journey than the destination, though it is interesting to see which titles made it where and why as very different members of the community offer very different points of view.
The video starts with the mighty Justin Wong offering the first game and placement as he chooses Mortal Kombat 11 and sends it definitively down into the “Trash” tier, noting that he played it for about an hour and never picked it up again.
Diaphone continues to populate the chart by asking passersby to name the greatest fighting game of all time that hasn’t already been brought up. Once the chart has a full 25 titles on it, additional players are given the chance to make switches and changes.
Of course, the reasonings behind many of these picks aren’t universal at all. Some players simply choose their personal favorites for the sake of nostalgia, others try to embody the entire FGC when they offer their opinions, and the end result is a hodgepodge for sure.
